Mancorr 0 Posted January 17, 2007 My driver side elec window has stopped working :( The passenger side works fine! My side has always been a bit dodgy as in i have to press the window button a few times before it will work. Now its taking 10+ times and even then it might not go down.....any ideas on yet another fault?!!!
s.g 0 Posted January 17, 2007 might be just the switch .unplug the passenger side switch and try it on the drivers side
vr6storm 0 Posted January 17, 2007 either the motor, switch or the window controller is playing up or possibly even the relay for the driver side is gone or loose the elec window contoller is hidden under the driver side rear "door" card
Mancorr 0 Posted January 17, 2007 vr6storm, Thanks for that mate....i would have been lost trying to look for it if i had not known it was behind the rear door card!!
randomist 0 Posted January 18, 2007 same thing happened on my valver, does it go up ok? i took the switch out & took the actually top part of the switch off, the bit you actually push. underneath they have little tabs at either end of the rocker switch that makes the contact & one of those had snapped. just got a new switch & hey tesco! working again. The_Dude 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Mancorr, You've not had the best of luck with your C, hope you got it cheap! I suppose its one of the joys of owning an old car. With any luck this will be the last for a while, and hope the driving pleasure will make you persist with rado ownership.
mattnorgrove 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Mancorr Not another prob??!! Did you get the overheating sorted out? Looking on the bright side, this one'll prob'ly be a cheapo fix... Maybe.
Mancorr 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Indeed another problem Matt! I im not giving up now, she is like a project to me :) I got the heating sorted, thermostat luckily! I have a few more probs....mid section of the exhaust is blowing and backbox is blowing :( The good side is it was the switch that was playing up on windows, phew! Got to get the tracking done on my wheels as feels kind of unstable, im comparing it to my MK2 Golf GTI 16v that was solid on the road, my Raddo feels a bit 'on air' if that makes sence? There again my Raddo is still on standard shocks and springs with 150,000 miles on them. My Golf had Eibach springs, Bilstien shocks and Eibach front and rear anti-roll bars that had covered 2K! Goldie 2 Posted January 18, 2007 Mancorr, i hope this will be the end of the probs for you. I know we all expect a few probs along the way but its been one after the other for you... Fingers crossed for you mate..
Mancorr 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Thanks Goldie! I have spent £692 in 2 weeks on her....ouch! I bought her for £1,400 off e.bay. Stupid me....didnt even view before buying. But the main thing is that if i had not bought her and someone just wanted a run around or someone who would just drive her like a pr@t would = 1 less Raddo on our roads! The_Dude 0 Posted January 18, 2007 Good for you dude, seems like there's too many rados being broken or written off at the mo - mine's an ex-write off, it only had minor damage to her bum, but these days thats enough for the insurers. Someone else repaired her though before i bought it so saved me dollar.
Goldie 2 Posted January 18, 2007 Thanks Goldie! I have spent £692 in 2 weeks on her ouch, thats good going. I had a little stint like that in November, new tyres, MOT, tax, Dealer service in 3 weeks = £700.
mattnorgrove 0 Posted January 19, 2007 Glad it wasnt too serious then Paul, thought it'd probably be the stat. New shocks/exhaust and you'll be laughin... Maybe...

I had a little stint like that in November, new tyres, MOT, tax, Dealer service in 3 weeks = £700. I've just spent considerably more than that in insurance alone :(
The_Dude 0 Posted January 19, 2007 I've just spent considerably more than that in insurance alone :( Cripes! you need confused.com! :) is it all the mods you got, or just no ncb?
Mancorr 0 Posted January 19, 2007 Could be dinkus's age?....i know they sting anyone under 25 for any hot hatch or coupe. I pay £312 third fire & theft through Direct Line....there again im almost ready for my free bus pass at my ripe old age

I think i pay 510 fully comp but no protected 6 years ncb. which is ok, considering i used to pay 7-800 on my astra gsi. i think the price has a lot to do with how much excess you're willing to pay.
