ARM1 0 Posted February 15, 2007 Hi guys, I have just spent a fortune on my 16valve 1.8 corrado, I have had the head taken off inorder to change the valve stem seals, also have a new cylinder and head gsket etc. This was to stop the oil entering the engine which was causing blue smoke to emit from the exhaust. The work has now been done and the engine is back together, however the car won't start seems to be turning over but won't fire. I have also replaced the ignition pack to no affect. Does any body have any ideas before I spend more money? Thanks
lottysvdub 0 Posted February 16, 2007 have you got a spark at the leads or from the coil pack , double check that all the connectors are on in the right place and also make sure that if you removed any earth cables from the head or any other mounting point that they are all back on , also has it got a good fuel supply ive seen it before when rebuilding an engine that some one clamps off the fuel lines and forgets to release them after  , double check everything you have taken off and that you havent got any spare electrical connectors floating around ,hope this helps mate :)
Rustynuts 0 Posted February 17, 2007 Make sure the timing is right and you have not missed off a breather pipe. There is one right under the inlet that can easily be missed.
