please help need tape

electrical loom tape . . does any one know were to get the tape used for the engine bay loom as close as i can to the factory ?? if so how much is it ?? asked for it from vw and they said "not available" its almost like cloth tape

I wouldn't use it unless you're going for factory concourse look, cos the fabric tape is cack.

 

I'd use at least plastic loom wrap, or better yet - braiding and heat shrink.

 

Premier Wiring have pretty much everything you could need, but there are other places you can get stuff from too :)

that was quickkkkkkkkkkkkk man .. . many thanks . its got to look as factroy as i can . i got the shiney stuff and it just don't look right . with two different types in the bay . . .

Heh, you just got lucky :)

 

Never seen the fabric stuff for sale anywhere (see above comment about it being crap :lol: ), but you might be able to find some stuff on google...?

Dink , the proper fabric self amalgamating tape is fantastic, i've had it on ages, looks oe and wont crack. got it mail order from a place in derby.

The OE stuff is crap tho -cracks, flakes apart and looks like a mummy's just escaped from the engine bay :lol:
