Fat Tony 0 Posted November 19, 2003 When Joe and I went over we went along the motorway and over the Forth Road Bridge. Would be cool to all stop before we go over and try to get a pic with the bridge in the background (Joe's idea). Could co over the other bridge but don't know which is quicker or best. Any ideas? Guy's I would say Kincardine is quicker and a much more interesting drive than the M8 (which if they have laid fresh tar takes you like three weeks to get it off, Bitter experience and still covered in the crap) which also reminds me of the road works. When heading up to the Club rr day earlier this year we went this way. We hooked up with my friend from Edinburgh in Rosyth just after the 4th rd bridge. vr6storm 0 Posted November 23, 2003 right as the RR day is only a week away i thought i might take the opportunity of remiding you all of a few points to be noted for the RR day...... 1)please ensure that your car has all fluid levels checked and topped up where neccesary and that your tyre pressures are what they should be.......we don't want any mechanical problems to rear their ugly head due to lack of oil or coolant......could be highly embarrassing    2)please remember to take at least £20 to pay for your session(or £25 if you haven't paid a deposit to me........ )......i should hopefully have a RR-day C-forum T-shirt which i'll be taking orders on.........also there should be a burger van nearby so that you won't be going hungry  3)please DO NOT treat the area in and around Star-Performance as a "private"-road,as it no doubt can lead to complaints etc which might jeopordise future RR-days..........also please respect the other businesses that have units next to Star-Performance also  4)if your car has major tracking/suspension geometry issues.....ie you have to fight the wheel to keep it in a straight line then it could well be advisable to have this sorted before next sunday or risk having a RR run aborted 5)and WRAP UP WARMLY......it'll no doubt be baltic both inside and outside  anyway hopefully it should be a good day and i'll see you all there.......remember and introduce yourself to me(unless you already know me of course)as it'll be good to put faces to names etc

Joe M 0 Posted November 24, 2003 Ill definately be going the motorway I reckon, dont think the cars up for more "interesting" roads. Might even leave a bit early as ill probably have to keep the speed down but ill let you know for the end of the week.

Fat Tony 0 Posted November 24, 2003 Looks like I'll be in Rosyth on the Saturday night so let me know which time you'll be on that side of the bridge and I'll try to meet up for the sprint to Star P
vr6paul 0 Posted November 24, 2003 is that the showcase cinema right in the middle of the road works? if so sounds fair enough to me.
Mystic Storm 0 Posted November 25, 2003 Is there a definite meeting place/time for the Edinburgh contingent?
andycowuk 0 Posted November 25, 2003 do you want to make one? there will be three of us.....prob 3 cars.....from gorgie. Can meet n e where on route. If we are meeting the weegies in rosyth, are we going to glentrothes along coast road or back onto dual carriage way? The mk2 golff man we will be with comes from Kirkcaldy so we def know where we're going!
Mystic Storm 0 Posted November 26, 2003 Make that 4 from Gorgie then, well Slateford is close enough. Why don't we meet in Edinburgh before we leave - Safeway petrol station at the Gyle for 9ish? That should give us enough time to meet the Glasgow boys in Rosyth - do we know where? Probably easier/quicker to take the A92 rather than the coastal road, but I don't mind. Is MKII golf man travelling from Edinburgh? He'll know the best way to go anyway.
KARMANN 0 Posted November 26, 2003 Aye thats the cinema.il be up for meeting anywhere though.
Danger Mouse 0 Posted November 26, 2003 Can we say lets meet at the showcase cinema around 8.30 am then??? DM
vr6paul 0 Posted November 26, 2003 I think you are only an hour and a half away from star if you are meeting on the east side of glasgow. that gets you there for 10 easy!!!!!! I may just make my own way up as i would need to leave home at about 7.45 to be there for half eight. me and glen were thinking of leaving at about half eight from largs and that will get us there for half ten ish cheers Paul
Fat Tony 0 Posted November 26, 2003 At this rate looks like the Edinburgh contingent will be meeting at Star P when you get there. I'll keep an eye out to see if we can co-ordinate it so everyone hits the bridge at the same time  Might have to leave ten min before everyone else to get on the rollers early. I know what roddy looks like so it may be a sprint to get your name down (if that is how it is being run) Roddy are you making a list of cars as they check in or is it a line up outside the door afair?
biggrim 0 Posted November 26, 2003 So, what is happening then? Are we meeting up at the showcase then before the bridge for a photo shoot style thing then going off in one big convoy? Just wanna know if 8.30 at the showcase is early enough for that plan and as we all know, "I love it when a plan comes together!". Let me know guys as time is drawing near 8)
