I don't generally tend to use a torque wrench. I just do things up tight. A bit of common sense will see you through on most things. I would always use a torque wrench for head bolts and the like.

well after not doing the flywheel bolts up to the correct nm setting . the flywheel came loose and shook my engine to bits. complete rebuild. £1500. so yeah if its says x nm do it..

I rarely use a torque ratchet, unless its somethin critical like a head etc. Judge it by the size of the pin, if its only a small bolt, dont go crazy on it

Torque figures are there for a reason, on all components.
