Danger Mouse

uncovered by Bedrock

Recommended Posts

I had my G60 in for a 'service check' a few weeks ago to see what needed done.

They uncovered quite a few things, some of which iv already sorted. The list below shows what is still outstanding. Im not sure about these ones.... price, difficult...etc

PLAY ON O/S/R WHEEL BEARING

BOTH REAR BUMP STOPS PERISHED

O/S CV BOOT PERISHED

CLUTCH DRAGGING

FRONT ENGINE MOUNT (already a thread on this one)

HANDBREAK CABLE TOO TIGHT

DRIVE SHAFT O/S BENT

Any help would be appreciated

Cheers

the costliest is going to be the bent drive shaft, the rear wheel bearing is easy to do and only about £20(??) the handbrake cabe is easy to do,just removing the handbrake covers etc is the most difficult thing, front engine mount is easy, and the cv boot would be done the same time as changing the bent drive shaft

Not many places would bother checking the trueness of the driveshafts, so hats off to Bedrock for that one. You can use any VW shaft that has a 100mm CV, so G60, 16V (Golfs included) etc etc. Should be able to get one from a scrappy no probs.

The fact that DM ploughed into a roundabout @ 50+mph might have helped with their diagnosis a little :p
