Mine blew on saturday on the way home from failing the MOT

Car full of steam and hot feet etc.... I was wondering if this meant that the car should have been recalled by VW, from memory there was some kind of health and safety thing to stop that from happening. Is there any way to find out?

wouldnt bother taking dash out just makes job more teadious and long, it takes about 3hrs to it with dash in, and helps a little if you have a spare pair of hands.

my matrix pewed lovely pink g12 all over my feet last week ( bear in mind i have grey interiorand carpet!!!) car is sat in bits now but have 2 questions.

1. Is it ok to use standard plumbing copper pipe (22mm) to bypass the matrix for now, and if so as i can't find any that is the right angle, will soldered pipe take the pressure and heat??

2. How can you change the matrix without removing the dash on a vr6??

Realy want to get this sorted as just spent 500 quid getting it through mot and want to take it out and play!

matt :(

should be fine .if you make a good solder joint .it don't get that hot .

you can get it out from the passenger side no problem . take the seat out to give yourself some room . will take you a few hrs but it can be done with out taking the dash out .

well i have had mine replaced today :D i had it done at a local vw specialist. Matt at dub-unit fitted it for me, and all the annoying creaks/rattles have also gone i'm 100% happy with the job. if anybody else wants to go to him for yours done?? he only charges £175 for fitting it.

pm me if you want he's mobile number. he is based in Fazely, near tamworth birmingham.
