Connorado 0 Posted May 9, 2007 Need some help people big time people. Only had my VR about two months now and im loving every second, the only problem is that i've managed to break a rim already.... didnt even hit anything!!! Its currently got a set of Azev A's 8x17" 205/40's all round and i like them alot but a fancy something else. Thinking about a set of BBS RX 16" but still want them to look quite fat ... can anyone post me some pics of theirs an let me know what size wheels, tyres and offsets to go for. Also the car has been lowered 40mm already but will be getting some coilovers soon and wondering whats the best wheel option for going lower than a badgers ball bag so to speak!! First post by the way so any help would be awesome...
double-6s 0 Posted May 9, 2007 If you wanna go really low with a vr then watch the offset. Get some compomotive MO's (16 inch) which have an offset fairly similar to the standard wheels, and you'll be able to go lower than marvin the paranoid android on a really bad day :) Trouble is, more offset (around 30-35) = fat stance..... dukest 0 Posted May 9, 2007 welcome! oxfordpaul has 16in BBS RX on his car and ziderapple has just put 17s (i think) on his so you can see the look they have (both lowered similar to yours at the moment). check their members galleries. hope that helps! Connorado 0 Posted May 10, 2007 After seeing the pic of ben's and oxfordpaul's cars i couldnt help myself and i've gone and ordered a set of 16x7 RX's.... when the guy rings me back do i need to tell him any special offsets or will the manufacturers recomendations be the best? Not sure how fast there gonna get back to me..... help!
ben16v 0 Posted May 10, 2007 8) mine are 37 offset i think but thats on a 1.8 16v so will have narrower track not so sure on the vr`s i`m afraid
dukest 0 Posted May 10, 2007 the 7.5s are normally 35, so that or 37 sounds good :) standard 6.5 speedlines are 43 and you want these further out than them!
Rob Heath 0 Posted May 10, 2007 Couldnt you get a price to get the wheel repaired, then if you like the current wheels, this would be the cheaper option
Connorado 0 Posted May 10, 2007 The wheel is actually cracked all the way through... big enough to loose air through! there is a place near me that specialise in alloy welding but i dont fancy it. Too late now got some BBSs on the way. So by my rough calculations if a 7.5" wheel has an offset of 35, a 7" wheel of the same kind should be 29 to bring the outside edge of the wheel to the same place? Someone tell me if im talking complete bllx pls.
yeti 0 Posted May 16, 2007 Good choice mate RX and RXII's look 8) (but i'm biased) you can slam it to the floor but it become unusable! :( - my front splitter is abou 40mm from the tarmac and i have issues everywhere i go, as long as you go slowly over small speed bumps you should only scrape the cat shield, although you can donk the subframe! hope to see some pics soon :-) o and if u want a bllx filter this website might help your maths :) http://[url=http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp]http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp
