1.8 16v innlet mannifold

What is the size of the innlet mannifold on a 1.8 16v? Is it worth me buying a 50mm joby, or do I already have one?

42mm has 3 small ribs on each inlet, the 50mm is smooth.....

I have heard though that if you swap to a 50mm inlet, although the BHP goes up, mid range torque goes down, is this true, and are they worth getting?

The 50mm will give higher BHP and torque, but only high up in the rev range, torque at lower revs will be less than with a 42mm, so it depends on you driving style i suppose.
