Removing oily fingerprints from a white corrado.

Recommended Posts

Having been fiddling with the corrado for the last few days, I've left a plethora of oily fingerprints over the bonnet, wings, roof, doors etc. Washing it didn't remove them, whats the best option now?

Cheers

Tom

lighter fluid will do it i think.....not sure how kind to the paint tho....but it will evaporate almost instantly anyway

Liberally stick some meguiars paint cleaner on the spots (a nice lump) ...let it sit there for a minute and then spread/rub in straight lines over it with a microfibre/foam applicator.

Let it just start hazing (not totally dry) and then remove with a good microfibre cloth.

It may stain, and look obvious compared to the rest of the paint...but a few goings over the whole car with the paint cleaner should bring it all back up.

Spirit wipe / de-greasing panel wipe as used prior to painting in a body shop.

That should disolve it without affecting the paint and allow you to wipe it off, or you could always just use a drop of petrol on a cloth, that should do it too.
