bigger bottom end for g60

Recommended Posts

You guys didn't get the aba 2L crossflow motors? I swapped one these blocks in to my G60 a couple years back. Easy swap and good power. Plus the pistons are know to hold 15psi without issues.

I believe the bottom end from the 8V ABA engine is pretty much the same as the ABF 16v engine in terms of spec etc... not sure if they will just bolt onto a G60 head tho??? Ive never understood why we couldnt just make a 2L ABF bottom end fit onto a G60 (albeit with low comp pistons) ??? THese engines are used alot for Turbo conversions, so why not for a Base for a 2L bottom end for the G60??

i'm buying an ABF on tuesday.(It has a few internal parts of a 9a block that I need)

I'm going to measure it up,i.e deck height etc,and see how it compares to the PG block.

I dont think the waterways are different as i think my mate has fitted an ABF head gasket to his NA 8v 2 litre conversion, so i guess if that matches an 8v head the waterways should be the same...??

The only problem maybe physically fitting the G-lader and parts from the PG engine to an ABF block...??

apparently the 9a block is vw's version of the audi 6a block which has the same dimms as a 1.8 liter block?!?!

I have read this on a few diff web sites now but that doesn't make it true.

Can anyone confirm.Just for curiositys sake?

:)
