timmaaah 0 Posted August 2, 2007 Whilst pulling away from a junction rather quickly this morning, my abs warning light came flying towards me! Thought it had just come loose, but on closer inspection I can see the plastic surroung has cracked. Cats bottoms. What options have I got - will it glue, or is it a new section - if so, how much will it be and how easy is it (not!) to fit? Cheers for looking and for any help offered in advance. raddovr6 0 Posted August 2, 2007 Mine is cracked in the same place as well, i have tried getting one from VAG and they quoted my £96 + vat only ony problem, its now an obsoulete part :( No one makes an aftermarket part either, the only thing you can do is to look out for a complete dash with it or keep your eyes peeled for any VR6's that are breaking. Goldie 2 Posted August 2, 2007 Quite normal, mine is cracked near the radio.. Another option is to have a it plastic welded and sprayed proffesionally...
andy 0 Posted August 3, 2007 Yep, very common. Even 2nd hand ones go for up to £50. I got a 2nd hand one as mine had been broken in about 10 places by an alarm "fitter", I reinforced mine on the rear face by supergluing thin bits of plastic to it in the stressed areas.
