Thanks guys didnt realize about reactivating threads etc ,hopefully this one will be ok . Well today i visited my local penzance and camborne halfords the guys up at camborne said i needed to go direct to vw as they dont have anything in there store to fit , penzance halfords are going to order in a recaro young expert model and try it , i have tried the recaro young sport but am not sure , it also has to fit my vr6 golf , but cant see that being as difficult.lil

Is there any leather Recaros... and does they come with heated seat?

It must match the rest of the interior! ;)

Tried to fit my Nephews in my Corrado last week, not possible I'm afraid. Spent 15 minutes trying to get it to fit in the front and back :brickwall:

Pat, you sure it was one of these? I got one trail fitted by "Smyths" (Kids store) in the Rado and even fitted the front Recaro too! There was a Knack to it though.. as there is with the Baby seat... easy when you know how!

ATM am using the Maclaren/Recaro Young Profi Plus (Up to 9 months) as was the only one that would fit the front Recaro seats as well as the rear bucket...

But can't see why a Reacaro interior rear bench is any different to standard?

However maybe a "downgrade" to the Bench style rear seats would help?

Yeah I did think about changing for a rear bench but that's not possible with leathers as they never came without the armrest!

So you had one fitted Deviant and it went in OK?

Ah, thats the 0-9months one though, I need the 9month+ one that faces forward.

I've got a Maxi Cosi one in my van which i'm currently swapping from van to Corrado which is becoming annoying, I really rather have a Recaro in the Corrado if I can ascertain whether it'll fit properly or not

Should do, get to a proper kids shop one that specialises in baby seats they'll tell you...

Like I said had both the profi-plus and the bigger one, trail-fitted, both fitted fine...

Where are you using the Maxi-cosi as it starnge it fits yours and not mine?

One of the drawbacks of living here is that we haven't got that option! There aren't many shops that sell childseats and those that do haven't got the Recaros, even the stores like Mothercare etc are tiny here and just don't have the stock that they do up country :(

At the moment I'm using it in my T4 on the front passenger seat and in the Rado in the back, it took a while to get the hang of getting it in the rado properly especially compared to the T4 which obviously has loads of room. In the Rado you have to have the front passenger seat forward a fair bit but I imagine that's the case with any car seat in the rear, it fits very well though and Jnr loves it

Its tempting to just buy another one because I know it fits etc but I'd really like a Recaro in the Rado if possible.

I'll get a pic of it when its fitted next.

to be honest the recaro 09+ seat does not work to well in the corrado they are not the most secure

i remember once when going around a roundabout the chair fell over with one of my kids in it i had to stop

to sit em back up :( im sure they have come on leaps and bounds in the last 8 years as i got mine when they first came out :D

I should hope so!

As promised, here's a pic of the Maxi-Cosi (Priori XP) in the back of my rado, like I said it fits pretty well and is nice and secure - http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... GYN50Atk07

Don't anyone go calling social services though! The black eye and scar is due to him falling and hitting his face on a table, the trials and tribulations of learning to walk! :(

As you can probably make out though, there's not a lot of leg room for him and that's with the front seat pushed forward a fair bit, I can't imagine it's going to be very comfortable for front seat passengers when the littluns legs have grown (he's 15 months old in the pics and the seats supposed to be used untill he's 4!) - I find it hard to believe that the general concensus on here is that Rado's are fine for family cars, I find it a right pain in the ass, although it's possible to get him in its far from ideal!

We've got a Maxi Cosi Tobi car seat. Have to say we've never used it in the Corrado due to space issues and not wanting to wreck the leather seats with the seat digging in. Can't imagine using this car as a family car. I like you Walesy have a T4 which is now the family wagen as well as for work.

I was in the same position a while back, I was not impressed by the Recaros in comparison to other makes, we went for a maxi cosi and they also seem to offer more protection for the little one. The seat expert said the Recaros were only ever bought for the badge and by certain clientele  also considered the seats that lasted until they were 12 and thought that I would rather buy another seat at a later stage as I wondered how that length of time would treat a car seat the moved between car etc all the time in both looks and safety.

For reference in the Corrado I've used without problem, Maxi-Cosi Cabriofix, Maxi-Cosi Axiss (and the similar BeBe Comfort version before maxi cosi bought them out), BMW/Mini branded seat and the Graco Junior high back. Can also fit Jane powertrack and Quinny Buzz pushchairs in the boot ;-)
