Pipercross Viper kit

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just a quick question about fitting a pipercross viper kit, or for argument's sake, any run of the mill induction kit onto the lung of a 1.8 Corrado. will there be problems fitting such a part? Seeing as there is a plethora of breathers and a fuel rail feeding directly onto the top of the airbox, it seems to me that these will have to remain in place?

I'll be grateful for any advice thrown my way as I wouldn't mind a little bit of extra torque, even if it's just a few ft/lbs. Am I being a bit of a dumbass? I am usually one for not being able to see the woods for the trees....

:(

i don't know the answer to your question but is this the VIS kit? same thing? about £265?

i was thinking of getting one of these for my VR, but not sure if anyone has much experience with them on corrados?

you will not get it to fit unless you design some sort of replacement airbox that has the fitting for an induction pipe

Indeed it is the vis kit, my friend back home has one on his vr6 and is a really good piece of kit, boosts the torque by 'quite a noticeable margin' apparently.

Unfortunately these can't be bought for the 1.8 because of the K jet system on top of the air boxaccording to the kindly chap at Pipercross today. Item number PK223 is the only thing they sell for the 1.8 which is a foam replacement for the bottom half of the airbox. I'll have to settle for that. I could look at another air filter manufacturer but i've had Pipercross on all my bikes and wouldn't go for anything else really

Stroeve do a kit that replaces the lot and has all the necessary gubbins coming out the back. Think its about 120 notes.

Have you got a link to a site? I might make a shift from Pipercross if it looks the part 8)

Rimshot, sorry mate but your name makes me laugh every time I see it. It sounds like some sort of back door 'money shot' in porn films! :)

(no offence)

Until I see some dyno graphs before and after the Viper, It is staying firmly in the 'ricer tat' section of my engineering brain.

Dyno graphs or real engineering proof, either will do :D

btw, the K-jet on top of the airbox is the Metering Head.

I'm not sure about the valvers, but the VR6 is a pretty free-flowing engine (both in and out) from the factory. I doubt an induction kit will do much at all to the torque, but it'll certainly sound like it's going quicker...

Hehe. Cheers! I thought it had a bit of innuendo at first but I found out recently that it hasn't at all, and is in fact a musical term :(

I'm not usually into the rice-ization of a Dub, but I have to do some tinkering. I'm used to bikes, so need to squeeze every last ounce of available power from a car, seeing as it'll be a while 'till I can afford a bike.
