andygal 0 Posted September 20, 2007 Hey, Looking for a new passanger wing for my 1994 VR6. Ben offered one from a 16V J plate. Is this the same part and will it fit ok?? Cheers in advance, Andy
Dec 1 Posted September 20, 2007 IT will physically fit, but it will be narrower than the late spec wings and the bonnet wont line up with it very well.
Jim 2 Posted September 20, 2007 J reg 16V should be later shape / facelift as its a 2.0... so you should be ok...
andygal 0 Posted September 21, 2007 so gap between bonnet or will it be ok?? Cheers, Andy
Dec 1 Posted September 21, 2007 It will be a perfect fit!.....I got mixed up and figured a J reg was an early spec Corrado for some reason
gradeAfailure 0 Posted September 21, 2007 J-reg is early spec... 2.0 valvers with late body/early interior came out on a K-plate...
Jim 2 Posted September 21, 2007 J-reg is early spec... 2.0 valvers with late body/early interior came out on a K-plate... Battle of the anoraks here.. ;) J reg are definately 2.0 16v's so are facelift exterior but pre-facelift interior.... See the attached (dreadfully grainy mobile phone) snapshot of the review of a 2.0 16v from the Brookland Corrado review book... you can see its all facelift exterior! J-reg are also 1.8 16v's...........as Pau1 had one until a few months back.........J-reg 2.0 16v wasn't on sale til Spring 92..........J-reg was from August
Jim 2 Posted September 21, 2007 Hm... so we're both right then! I've never seen a 1.8 16v on a J plate before!
Matty Newquay 0 Posted September 24, 2007 Mine is a j plate and is only a 1.8 16v! I also need a new passanger wing so which one's will fit??? Cheers
gradeAfailure 0 Posted September 24, 2007 Jim, I stand corrected then as I've only ever seen 1.8s on a J-plate...! Fwiw, all 1.8 16Vs are early body/early interior, and all 2.0 16Vs are late body but can be late or early interior (changed on a K-plate I believe).
