greegs 0 Posted November 13, 2003 hi there, only had my '93 vr6 for few weeks but have a slight coolant leak. seems to be coming from lower radiator hose, but end coming off engine block, hard to tell though but that's where most of water appears to be leaking from. only seems to leak after driving hard. could worn engine mount cause leak due to excessive movement? have to top up water every few days so not too major just annoying. have been told all sorts including; crap hose clip? worn o-rings? . apart from this cannot fault car, so fast! would appreciate any help. only stumbled across site few days ago-well impressed. Vdub bug 0 Posted November 13, 2003 :) if it is the plastic flange on the block then you need to remove it and check the flange for cracks and see if the seal is worn. Hope that is of help
greegs 0 Posted November 13, 2003 :) is this plastic flange easy enough to remove? take it you mean seal on engine block? will i need to drain coolant to remove flange? are these parts expensive to replace? is this fault common? sorry about all the questions!! Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 13, 2003 Attached is a crude diagram of the VR cooling system. I've highlighted the common leak areas with a red arrow. Kev

Kevin Bacon 5 Posted November 13, 2003 JESUS  I aint even enlarged it, but DAMN... there is a lot of arrows...... Yeah well it is national VR6 coolant leak week  Most of the arrows are on the matrix, which can rupture anywhere, hence the random scattering of them!
