junkie 0 Posted October 29, 2007 Right then, as im understanding a little more on RS's i'm wondering if the centre instar can be changed to 1 that is 4 stud instead of 5 stud. Are they the same size instar just with larger diameter inners and outers to make 17" as some 16" RS's have the same 15" instar, and are they all the same number of bolts, 30/34 whatever they are? carpoid 0 Posted October 30, 2007 Hi mate. RS 301's have 34 bolts, and are 5x100. No RS' have 34 bolts and are 4x100. RS 003's are 16' 4x100 with 30 bolts, the same as the 15' instars. RS off a Porsche are 16" with 34 bolts and are 5x130, and can be used with adapters because thr ET is around 52 or something.... The outer rims look small compared to 17's so guess you could put 17" outers on ..... If you want 17" on a G60. the other way is to do a 5 stud conversion and get 301's..... Hope that made sense !!!! Im converting my hubs to 5 stud, using VR6 hubs and outer CV's. Ive also got some 20mm 4x100 > 5x100 adapters, which i wont be needing anymore, and YES Seat 4 pots and 305mm disks will fit behind them and work fine, i trial fitted them to my ones a while back, ill put some pics up when i get home.... G60SC_Stoney 0 Posted November 2, 2007 they stick out about about 20mm past the arch, BUT that is with a larger 1.75" lip instead of the standard 1.5" (i think) lip, so would be pretty much flush with the arch on standard 301s (and thats using 20mm adapters) so if you did the VR6 5 studs conversion, it would save you 20mm to start with.... Im at home now so ill try and bolt everything together to show you what it all looks/fits like.... Hold on a mo though, your at home and your going to bolt the wheels to the car, right. Have i missed something here, have you got it back??? no, but i have a large parts cupboard/room/flat.... :lol: ive got a set of VR6 hubs and the brake setup and wheels with me. Ive just trial fitted the disk/caliper to the wheel without the adapter and its close, VERY CLOSE but there is light, about 2mm between caliper and wheel, so you may want to run a very thin spacer just to be sure (i think H+R do a 5mm spacer) but it all fits together other than that.
