where is this on a 2.0 16v?

hi all,

been having trouble with the cooling on the car for what seems ages now

craigowl posted this pic of his fan control module

his is a VR6 , mine is a 2.0 16v

i DONT have this anywhere obvious in the engine bay but i'm guessing it must be somewhere

 

any ideas?

Nope.

 

IIRC all other models have the fan control run on system as part of the fuse board via a relay setup.

that what i thought...according to autodata its number 15 relay (pic below) but where that is meant to be is a fuse which seems to be for the electric windows

totally lost now :(

Whats the exact problem with your cooling? Is the fan not working or just slow?

 

Could be loads of things, give us a bit more info :-)

Ahh :oops: sorry and have to admit I didnt read through the whole thing but I did notice that the problem

got worse on replacing the Thermostat? If so that makes sence as I replaced mine with a new one from VW

and on the drive home I got 130 degrees on the oil :shock:

 

Ended up putting the old one back in as there was nothing wrong with it apart from age.

well i have not yet replaced the thermostat....but i am sick of not having it running so its off to the garage in the morning

for them to fit

new thermostat, water pump , coolant temp sensor ....to go with the new thermo fan switch already in place

fingers crossed it will be ok after that :lol:

 

but it is a corrado......so we'll wait and see

 

anything else i should replace while i'm at it ?
