Traverse 0 Posted March 23, 2008 looking good, i love your plates think they look ace, are they made to order?, if say i wanted some with my reg on it could you get em made and shipped over? ;) Yeah, the gr3nade plate is custom made, but it's just decoration. As for the plates that you see in the last picture, those are my legally registered Ohio plates that I have to have to avoid the long arm of the law  If you want a custom Europlate (that's what we call them) there are a ton of websites that make them. licenseplates.tv I believe is who made mine, but my local VW club uses http://www.germanplates.com for their group buys and they've always turned out nice. If you want one made and if they won't do it for you, you can paypal me some US$ to cover that and the price of shipping and I'll gladly do one for you. Update on the project: I pulled my g-lader out last night, but unfortunately it's toast so I'm awaiting a new g-lader in the mail. In the meantime Im going to clean up and do alot of painting in my engine bay to make it look pretty. Here's a few pics! Traverse 0 Posted March 25, 2008 whats the red and blue banner they have at the top and bottom, is that something to do with your license and insurac or road tax etc :) Neither, it's for the state. Each plate will have a different design on them. For example:
Philuk 0 Posted March 25, 2008 cool! i want some lol, can they make em up with anything on them or do you have to have them made using your documents like we do here unless there a show plate :)
Traverse 0 Posted March 25, 2008 You can make them with anything you want, as long as it meets their guildelines or it's not already taken. Normally they won't allow things with like sexual or offense language on them. They just charge you an arm and a leg to make a custom plate so most people usually just take what they're given. Traverse 0 Posted March 27, 2008 Started the beautification project under the hood over the weekend. My goal is to paint the g-lader when i finally get my new one in, then just clean the crap out of everything else. We'll see what else is going to get painted. My camshaft is in good shape, surprisingly!
Traverse 0 Posted April 6, 2008 Well, the guy that was selling me a new g-lader backed out and didn't tell me until last Thursday, so I didn't have time to get a new g-lader by this weekend to get it running. I have another one lined up and payed extra to ensure it's here by this Friday. I came home from my university anyways this weekend and tinted my tail lights and changed the colors of the LED's on my gauges and ordered the stuff to change the colors of the screen and the LED's in the switches. Pics of the tails and markers will be up this evening. PIcs of the guages and switches next weekend.
Traverse 0 Posted April 14, 2008 BIG UPDATE!!! Part 1: Wednesday/Friday Wednesday of last week I received word that my new g-lader had arrived. So Friday I headed off to home. Getting stuck in rush hour traffic is not fun! I get home about 7:00 on a beautiful (but windy) day to find a g-lader in my garage and a mystery box on my front porch. The g-lader was still full of oil so I spent a good hour cleaning it up, then we tore it apart to make sure the guts were in great shape. Much to my surprise, they looked almost brand new! So we cleaned it up and put new seals and bearings in it. I also did a super sh*tty job painting the outside. Figure 1.A, 1.B, 1.C, 1.C: New g-lader Once we got it apart we decided to call it quits for the night. At this time I finished wiring my dashboard LED's that I installed last weekend. I have the kit in the mail to change the color of my MFA and the LED's in the switches, but unfortunately they won't arrive until I'm back at school! Figure 2: New gauges I also decided to examine my Mystery Package. I open it up to find the new sunroof cover I ordered! To make things better, it even matched my headliner! I installed it and now it doesn't rattle and hurt my ears every time I go over a bump! Figure 3: New sunroof cover Part 2: Saturday/Sunday Saturday morning I wake up, feeling mighty sick and I proceed to hack my brains out all morning. We proceeded to put the g-lader back together. We got about an hour of work done before my dad decides he wants to go buy a car. So he does that and I do some odd jobs, such as putting my tail lights on and finishing the assembly of my interior! Once my dad gets back from buying his new Staab, we proceed to reassemble the car. At about 11:00pm on Saturday, April 12, my Corrado is back together for the first time in almost a month! Figure 4: Motor reassembled Once we were sure everything was assembled properly, the moment of truth was upon us. I sat in the car and held my breath as the car turned over. It caught and started! We listened to it run for a few minutes, then once we were sure that everything was in working order it left the garage. These pictures were taken this morning. Figure 5.A, 5.B, 5.C: Its alive! I have a blast driving it around, and am pleased with what I see on my MFA as I return to school this evening: Figure 6: MFA Now on a serious note, this charger is pulling a lot stronger than the old one. I have the standard pulley on this one, hoping it will get me a few more miles on it than if I had put the 68mm pulley from my old g-lader on it. It's almost like it's a new car now. It sounds completely different (it's not a washing machine anymore!), and it doesn't make so much noise as I'm driving. It even seems like it's steering better, but I could just be going crazy. Traverse 0 Posted April 16, 2008 We had a nice day today, so I thought I'd take a drive through the countryside and snap a few new pictures.
Traverse 0 Posted April 28, 2008 I haven't gotten to do too much lately because of school, but i did get the chance to make it out to a couple of shows this weekend. The first was called "Ring In Spring," which was a local show mainly showing American muscle cars, but all cars were welcome. I was the only foreign (non-American) car there. The second was called Lowenbroke, which was a Euro car show. A few pics: These two were taken by someone else. And just a sneak peek at what's coming in the future:

Traverse 0 Posted May 10, 2008 I started to work on the rest of my interior yesterday. Changing the LEDs in the switches :D Unfortunately there's still two more switches to do, and one of the driver's side door window switches doesn't work. I think I know why though. Lights off:
Traverse 0 Posted May 21, 2008 I'm all about originality. I was tired of looking at a red rado that doesn't really stand out, so I decided to make it a bit unique.
Traverse 0 Posted June 29, 2008 Well, I'm about to go and pick up the motor that I'm building my 16v on :D Also I'm getting ready to paint the car, pondering a new headliner, and about to order one of these bad boys:

Traverse 0 Posted June 29, 2008 nice progress, not too sure about the lines on the wing though, i see in one of the pics your mpg is 32.7 ! im lucky to be getting 20 lol Yeah, I was just experimenting with the stripes. I kind of like them to be honest. After I put those on I thought of a much better way to do it down the hood that I might try with vinyl once I repaint the car. If you're jealous of 32.7mpg, then I probably shouldn't show you this, which I took with my mobile on the way to a show yesterday morning: Unfortunately I still needed gas
