STARTING UP PROBS

Hey guys....got a mk2 vr6...over past few days starting the car when its cold on ignition it struggles slightly as tho the battery is dead...eventually it will start but all the clocks are reset....any idea what this could be guys....battery, alternator, starter motor??

 

any advice much appreciated as always..

Perhaps a bit of both the battery and alternator. If you have another battery to try I would give it a go, it may be the case that the alternator has packed up and the battery isnt getting charged. you could try taking your battery out charging it and then trying it again to see what happens

Check your engine earth connections and also check battery and starter motor connections are clean and tight. You may have a high resistance from a bad (or corroded) connection somewhere in the starter circuit.
