That is lush mate. You must have been gutted :(. I would have been absolutely livid. That bay is spot on!!! Tell me the culprits have been strung up by their swingers from a big pole as an example to others.

Gotta be my '88 Mark 2 8-valve GiT which I've still got - TSR ported head, cams, 4-2-1 stainless branch manifold, Jetex, chip. Goes like stink in a grumbly, raucous sort of way, but rust has got into the sills, the bodywork's looking a bit shabby after 176,000 miles and the suspension - Eibach/Koni has seen better days. Still handles in a go-kart sort of way though. Wiring's never been the same since the alter-recti-regulator died a couple of years back and fried parts of it :(

 

Plan next year is to find a sound Mark 2 chassis and stick the engine and associated gubbinses into that. It's not as fast, smooth or just as nice as the Storm, but still makes me smile. Hates my girlfriend though, she only has to get in it and something fails. I loaned it to her for six months and first time she drove it, she managed to kill the clutch and the starter motor in a single go. Impressive...

Without a doubt it was my last car before the Rado, my mk2 GTI 8v Turbo. The car had a one off turbo conversion built by the owner of a local garage for himself as a laugh with what seems to be whatever bits he had lying aroung his workshop (turbo off a 306 td, intercooler from an escort rst, some of the pipework made outta old exhausts!). It was hugely fast (and thirsty and and little tempremental) and i really regret selling it but at the time it needed some work that i could not really afford and i got an offer which gave me just enough to buy the Rado:

Sadly saw it on ebay not so long ago and the engine had been sold seperatly and replaced with a standard 8v along with a lot of the nice bits i had added. :(

 

worst....hmmm hard one cos i have liked all the Vw's i have owned in one way or another but i suppose it would have to be the 1st one i ever bought a j plate jetta 1.6, bit tooo grandadish..... :lol: (not counting a grotty mk2 gti i bought for £50 and never had on the road, robbed a load of bits off, then sold for a profit!)
