tonedef 9 Posted December 9, 2007 My wife just called me to say some f@cking oik just ran into my car in the supermarket car park and then drove off. She was driving past him at the time when he just reversed out into her scuffing the back bumper. She got his number plate and a witness' name, number etc. If the guy had stopped I'd have probably said not to bother, it's gonna cost me £70 or £80 to paint it but as he drove off I told her to phone the plod and report him. Can they do anything with it being in a car park? Will they even care?

skinnyman9000 0 Posted December 9, 2007 He could end up being charged. But teach him to stop in the future
Dubby 0 Posted December 9, 2007 Definitely report it to the police - I'm sure they would class that as failing to stop after and accident or something. AFAIK, you have 24 hours from the time of the incident to report it. Someone caused a fair bit of damage to my old golf once and drove off and left it - insurance would have written it off, it still cost me about £90 to fix it myself, new light, grille, paint etc. :( Good luck
