I'd also reccommend a trip up to Stealth Racing in Southam near Coventry. They know their 16v engines very very well.

I'd suggest giving them a call and speaking to the owner, Vince, about what is involved and what the costs are likely to be. Their website is http://www.stealthracing.co.uk and you can reach them by phone 01926 812259.

I know lots of people rate The Phirm in Surrey (http://www.thephirm.co.uk) but having never had any work done there, I can't really say what they're like from personal experience!

Don't get sucked into the internet hype regarding certain companies, unless you want something very specialised done i'd try to find somewhere that isn't a million miles away from you - using companies that are at the other end of the country can be a ball ache for many reasons.

I would have thought you will be able to find someone in your area, there are loads of places that will be able to carry out the work. Those that have been mentioned above seem to have good reputations, as do RKE (in my sig) but it's a long way to travel!

Blake Services in Stroud are excellent, and quite near you. Give Richard a call on 01453884003. They've looked after my last two Corrados (2.0 16v and VR6), and also look after several others. Good labour rate too- think it's around £35 per hour.

Mr Wales made a good point- it's all very well travelling for work, but if something goes wrong, you'll have to travel all that way again to get it fixed. So not really worth it unless it really specialist work, which it isn't by the sound of it. Happened to me before...
