Valerian 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Greetings Chad :) You might already know this but you want to be carefull about the spacing on yer number plate. Plod and, in particular, VOSA are paying a lot of attention to those sorts of things at the mo. Car looks in lovelly nick

Think it's £30 and the DVLA can confiscate the plate from you for misuse.
Valerian 0 Posted January 15, 2008 The fine can be up to £1000. Just had to get a set of new plates made up myself because the ones on the car had too large a gap in the middle. Unfortunately i work next door to a VOSA test centre which resulted in a quiet word being spoken in my ear. a bit of reading for you here: http://www.plates4less.co.uk/number-pla ... lities.asp and http://www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/leafle ... plates.pdf Personally i can't see why they make such a fuss about the spacing. As long as you don't re-arrange the letters/numbers the plate still reads the same.
Walesy 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Were you in Cornwall recently mate? I'm sure I saw a lovely looking blue Storm with a Storm plate on the A30 a few weeks back.
Chad 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Were you in Cornwall recently mate? I'm sure I saw a lovely looking blue Storm with a Storm plate on the A30 a few weeks back. Yeah spent a few days near camborne just before christmas 17th -21st december so it was probably me you spotted on the A30. Can't recall seeing any other c's on my travels i am always on the lookout. What were you driving?
h51mon 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Very nice looking motor.Storms have got to be the ultimate Rado to have...How is the Interior looking?
Chad 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Interiors pretty mint. No bolster wear or sagging. The usual crazing of the leather on drivers/passengers bolster, and a small rip in the rear quarter card. This is the only picture i have. Looks better know as i have cleaned and nourished the leather a few times. I have also got rid of those tatty mats 8) Will try and post some more recent ones when i have somemore time.

What were you driving? I was on the opposite side of the carriageway in a T25 camper so it's not really suprising you didn't see me, your car looked awesome on the move though it has to be said! BigTartanJudge 0 Posted January 16, 2008 The reason VOSA, DVLA and police get annoyed when they see plates like this is that the ANPR (Automatic number plate recognition) cameras set-upat side of roads or in police traffic units apparently cannot read the number-plate as the spacing is non-standard. They are VERY picky about this, well up here they are anyways. Really annoys me too as I got stopped for not having a front-plate (was in window as the sticky pads had lost sticky-ness due to cold weather), and was still perfectly visible. Also got told that it was a non-standard material (pressed alloy, but not german-flagged and was still reflective with correct height, width and spacing of digits), but they weren't interested. Got a £30 fine and told to change them within 7 days. Also got told that if I got stopped again with them, they would inform the DVLA that I was misrepresenting my plate and they would take it off me and risk a £1500 fine........... Nice rado though mate !
Chad 0 Posted January 18, 2008 Looks in great nick, welcome aboard. Sure I've seen the plate before? Possibly seen me driving around Bristol or surrounding areas. S.Glos isn't far away. I'll be on the lookout for a classic green!

Chad 0 Posted January 18, 2008 There has been a few subtle mods carried out by the previous owner milltek s/s exhaust cheaper than an original one. Lupo wipers which i want to change. Getting the juddering that lupo wipers seem to do. Amd remap the paperwork says 207bhp :) I know there's a thread about TT wipers on the rado. How many of you guys have this mod and does it work? I like my wipers to be smooth and less noisey. Thanks for all the nice comments 8)
