NEW WEEKEND TOY

Recommended Posts

After a long wait I finally managed to buy a car in December that I wanted to buy last July when I'd seen it advertised on Pistonheads. On seeing this Vr6 I decided to put my very heavilly modified Passat B5 Estate up for sale, I contacted the owner and had photo's sent over etc and decided it was definately the car I wanted. Sadly, the Passat took me considerably longer to sell (try 5 months!!) and someone else bought the Corrado. As I was unable to actually sell the Passat I did a straight swap for a Audi 80 cabriolet which I then managed to sell on within a fortnight, I bought a cheap diesel van as a runaround and started my search for a VR6 Corrado. It was pure luck that I found another car in the same colour as the one I'd seen 6 months previously, not just the same colour but it was after speaking to the new owner the same actual car! Within days I was on the train down to Crewe, bought it off a top guy and drove it home. Well worth the wait!! Really chuffed, standard apart from the Koni top adjustables, what a dream to drive.

welcome to the forum & corrado ownership.. any plans for the VR??

Cheers mate, after chucking so much money into the Passat I am taking it easy with this one!

I'd like to change the wheels for something different, the interior is ok for now but I'd prefer leather,I really want to keep it more low key than the Passat was (not very hard really!) Performance wise maybe a exhaust change only as it is a very quick car as it is, pulls very strongly, maybe polybush the suspension, we'll see how we get on!

Cheers mate, just been looking at some of your old posts on here and saw my old car! The red 16 valver with the reg G121CDG was our old car, we had it for 3 years before I sold to my mum who had it for another 3 years or so before she px'd it for a Mk4 Golf Gti, last time I saw it was a few years ago, is it still around? my wife loved that car and was gutted when we had to sell it to raise a deposit on our first house.

Tis nice that 8) Passat looks well ace! top work Fella!

Cheers, the Passat was a superb car, 162bhp diesel, 46mpg and went like a rocket! I prefer the VR6 Corrado though! best car I've had (so far) after owning about 20 different VW's over the years.
