dubburke 0 Posted February 21, 2008 I have been offered a 90 1.8 16v (burgundy in colour) 120k, and engine was apparently rebuilt at some stage within the last couple of years, the body is ok appart from a hole near the petrol cap, the interior is unmarked black leather/door cards. Standard wheels In fact everything is intact and works inc sunroof/active spoiler. 11 months MOT 5 months tax. Only fault is flashing coolant light (plenty in it) sticky rear caliper and the hole near the petrol filler. Would you buy it for £750?
Dec 1 Posted February 21, 2008 Yup! I'd take it if I were you! The leather interior would be most of that price anyway! would be worried about the rust hole near the petrol cap...but my theory would be, for that price, even if it the engine were to explode a week after you bought it, you could easy re-coup the money you spent on it by selling a few bits from it!
Walesy 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Yeah, it seems like the right price tbh - i'd pay that for it probebly.
vwdeviant 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Looks like a good late leather interior there.. and maching carpets too! Can't see the hole by the filler cap though?

boost monkey 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Looks like Bordeaux, not Burgundy? Yeah, that's a good price. Could always sell the interior for a few hundred and have a lower spec C for a lot less! I paid £500 for mine, and it has no leathers plus I had to get the tax myself.

Yes you are right it is bordeaux...i forgot the colour, so just said burgundy  Seems a pretty good price with Long t&t, the car also has full VAG history aswell, pity there is no paperwork for the engine rebuild, so i will take it as the mileage stated on the clocks :(

Could always take the block apart if you were bored one day and were wondering if the engine had actually been rebuilt! lovely colour though, Bro's replacement bonnet is that colour although it's getting sprayed soon.
