EGT probes or Sensor info request......

Recommended Posts

Anyone know what year or engine code VW started using EGT probes or can point me in the right direction on ETKA? Or recommend aftermarket probes that can hookup to an Emerald ECU. Many Thanks. :confused4:

Bump and additional question.

Those who run EGT's,c'mon i know your out there. :D

How many are you running?

If just one how did you decide which cylinder your were going to monitor?

If we don't get answers we are going to start knocking on doors.

Humbly yours

Robert.

I thought you would monitor the whole engine as a whole as in a lambda type sensor in the exhaust.

well a conversation with a friend has sparked me into thinking having just one monitoring one of the cylinders is a bit troublesome..

Maybe at least two would be better?!

Your suppose to have them as close to the exhaust ports as possible so it should be upstream of your lambda really..

Yes thats what i mean though, just 1 as close as you can get, why would it be troublesome just having 1, your only monitoring the exhaust temp to watch out for potential lean out conditions.

It should be closer,

b4 the individual runners collect into one.

wideband will pick up lean conditions, looking to pick up drops in combustion temperature that denote knock.
