vr6 cutting out when clutch ingaged

as i arrive at junctions and lights etc and put the clutch in the car decides to to just die. it also does it when starting i have to hold it at 1500rpm when i turn the key otherwise it just starts and then dies?

 

it doesnt do it all the time tho but a least a few times every journey?

 

i presume its a sensor on the way out? anyone solve this for me?

Try ISV, MAF, lambda, crank sensor .. etc etc etc..

 

First port of call is an engine error code scan. The "stalling VR6" issue is a well common problem, with a million different potential causes.

i would bet ISV. take it off and soak it in petrol and use a screwdriver to free up the valve inside.

check the isv pot for being cracked and drawing air in,then start to look at the electrical parts.

Mine was doing this, cleaned the ISV and its fine.
