twofourten 0 Posted January 26, 2009 I had previously noticed that my front grill was a bit broken & partially held in with a cable tie. This weekend, at a mystery location, it fell out. coullstar 0 Posted March 19, 2009 AFR = air to fuel ratio. This is as it sounds, the ratio of air to fuel mixture. IIRC 13 is around what you want. PSI-g = Assuming this is the boost your getting from the Supercharger. Not really dealt with G60's so not sure what is good or not. Atmospheric pressure is 1 bar or 14.5psi. fFtlb = as you say, the amount of torque the engine has, effectively the pulling power of the engine. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

twofourten 0 Posted March 20, 2009 The original spec for the car was: Ouput 160bhp at 6300rpm Maximum Torque 165lb/ft at 4000rpm Mine is now: Output 165.4bhp @ 6000rpm Torque 165lb/ft @ 6000rpm The AFR thing concerns me, should this be more stable/level and if so can you fit some kind of regulator? Trakx has said that my injectors are maxing out (thanks for pointing this out by the way) from a look at various threads I gather that getting red tops on there will help? Neil VR6 0 Posted March 31, 2009 Given that the car's standard output is 160bhp and you're only making 165bhp your injectors are very unlikley to be maxing out. I'd take it somewhere for a health check, G-Werks or JMR - both experts. I was making about 180-185 on my old G60 with no sign of the injector duty going too high. Given your slighty erratic AFR you might have a duff lambda probe which measures the amount of unburnt fuel in your exhaust gases and feeds that back to the ECU. When I got my SNS chip mapped at G-Werks they hooked up a wideband lambda probe to the exhaust which reads over a far greater range than the standard lambda probe. I then took it out down the bypass for some full bore third gear bursts to make sure the AFR was enriching under boost whilst Darren had his eye on the wideband readings - which is vital. If you're running a smaller pulley you'll need the ECU remapped or you're running more boost and the ECU won't know what to do when it sees more air. Neil VR6 0 Posted April 1, 2009 I don't doubt that but is the wideband connected in place of the normal lambda and feeding the ECU with info or just held up the exhaust pipe for the sake of the plotting the graph? I just can't see how injectors are maxing out at only 5bhp over stock power? twofourten 0 Posted April 1, 2009 Thanks for the feedback guys, it's much appreciated - I'm talking to the lovely folks at G-Werks at the moment about some further mods to the car toward Sept time, so fully plan to get the G-Lader service + rolling road before and after the works so I can track the differences. I have heard of the lambda thing, but have no idea what it is really, I'll ask Rob at G-Werks (my email contact) and see what he thinks... Trakx 0 Posted April 2, 2009 In a rolling road usually the lambda probe is in the tail pipe. In my car i near the stock narrow lambda. Althought one can use a wideband to feed the ecu with some soft management i prefer to keep the stock one. Concerning bhp. The car is making 12 psi, that is not much above stock. But more importante is that the bhp is not in the same "scale" as factory numbers. Soo this 165 can be really good or not. In the rolling road i use, the first time my car went there it was almost stock but with a one way valve in ISV route, so it made a litle more boost on top rpm, with stock chip. It made 145. Then with 68 pulley, chip and cam it made 175. This time a mate of mine with a stock 180 hp Audi TT went with me. The Audi got 168. That's 12 diff. 175 + 12 = 187 which is near the 190 we hear to be the target with chip, cam, pulley and ISV. Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

dirtytorque 0 Posted April 2, 2009 it should make more than that on 12 psi although some will say that is low for a 68mm pulley on a car with no head work. General health check as you would any car. check static timing ok. ignition timing setup correctly. check fueling correctly. check the engine has adequate compression. as said above i'd take it to a specialist if these are things you are unable to check yourself. twofourten 0 Posted April 7, 2009 I have found a place that will ship (from the USA) me the 17x7 OZ Allegerita HLT in Titanium Tech finish for a total of £950 Was also toying with the idea of a 4WD drive conversion with limited slip diff, have found a MK2 Golf Syncro (4x4) would this do the job?
