Aftermarket seat subframes

Recommended Posts

Ive just aquired some front seats removed from a mk2 golf.

It appears someone has welded recaro bases to the golf subframes then cut the rear legs down on the subframe.

They fitted straight into my rado but touch the headlining and my legs dont fit under the steering column :gag:

Is there a seat subframe i can buy that will fit start in and i can just bolt the seats to?

If not any ideas on best way to mod them?

Heres a pic of them fitted

No bloody wonder there sitting so high  so a couple of questions mate, do you want to be able to have height adjustability?? if you do, how good are you at welding?? as you will be doing lots of cutting welding if you go this route.

if you dont care about height adjustability?? then get onto german e-bay and get some recaro seat bases for a mk2 golf and just chop the rear leg down to the height you want, and weld it back together.

I have just got the exact same seats - recaro speed - and didn't realise that the original subframes can be adapted. Any tips ?
