R32 Engines for Sale

Recommended Posts

If you do the mechanicals yourself and pay to get the electrics done, you can do it for about a thousand over the cost of the engine, if you can weld up your own manifold then it would be even less. If you get an Audi one or an earlier Golf one, you don't have to buy any extra bits (like the FPR, power steering/alternator cradle), not bad really.

Is this estimate if you have a VR as a base car to be converted?

Blimey I really want to keep the original 12V but that seems really cheap

I take it you have rempap costs / new ECU costs on top of that?

Do you keep the std gearbox or can you fit the R32 one? Anybody done a DSG conversion yet :norty:

keep it quite! I wanted to keep the bids down lol

i think remap are roughly £200 de remove the immob feature and i think its a few more quid to get the 2 lambda sensor inputs removed (r32 uses four lambdas iirc)

standard gearbox can be used with some minor work

r32 can fit in a rado but needs new drive shafts making up. no idea if anyone has done DSG, would like to find out mind.

Stealth told me if you wanted to DSG it would mean transfering literally the whole car over e.g dash etc

Oh well thats a thought for the future then :D

VAG doctor is your man, all the wiring done and the ECU code defeats for about £300, you're best off keeping all the lambdas and twin CAT's.

You don't need to modify the gearbox at all, just transfer over the VR flywheel.

You don't have to transfer over all the dash etc if you want the DSG, but you will have to transfer over all the sensors, DSG ECU, Gearbox oil cooler, and the Haldex etc and make it 4WD!!

when i said some modification needed to use the vr box i meant things like extra long bolts, some extra supports etc. like Kip said the box bolts up fine

which sensors are you talking about then kip? this is making the dsg conversion quite possible. do you know anyone whos done it?

Basically the DSG box takes inputs from the Engine and Wheels via CAN bus (except the wheel speed sensors), which the Corrado doesen't use.

It doesen't really matter because the CAN imputs from the drivers side - the accelerator pedal, steering position and the gear selection, can be transferred transfer as isolated units and ultimately just plug into either the DSG ecu or engine ecu.

The only thing is the gear selection display won't work on the Corrado dash, so you might want to use the Golf/Audi dials too!

Someone is doing it, can't remember who though!
