foster 0 Posted January 16, 2009 I've put some rm's on over the winter and the dishes now look a bit gash (not stainless :( ) So I've decided to split them again but change the colours. The ideas I have so far are, Colour coded, white, gold or silver CENTRES White, cream, colour coded, gold or red DISHES. But cant seem to make my mind up. I like the Idea of colour coded centres but Its the dishes I cant settle on. I just dont want them polished anymore (too much hassle!) Then theres the bolts, what to do with them? ARRRRGH!!! Also been thinking of painting the roof white/cream, but is that just madness? :brickwall: Any suggestions welcome (apart from polishing the dishes again!) BILLCOR 1 Posted January 16, 2009 Dishes always look good highly polished, colour coded sounds good, here's a pic of a similar coloured MK2 currently for sale on Pistonheads 854180-1 (Large).jpg[/attachment:1srwzqys]

foster 0 Posted January 16, 2009 Has anyone ever got a good finish with laquer though. I've heard it makes them dull?
Leonard 0 Posted January 16, 2009 Has anyone ever got a good finish with laquer though. I've heard it makes them dull? I left the laquer on my split rims and just polished the centres (as they are relatively easy to keep clean). Dont look that dull. Yeah not mirror finish but price you pay for every day use :( . Could look good with black centres, make it look even more shiny!
coullstar 0 Posted January 17, 2009 I know its been done to death but a light grey centre always works well with that color plus it hides brakes dust well. Coloured outer just look gash im afraid. Just lacquer them, it doesnt dull them too much.
foster 0 Posted January 17, 2009 Been told that the 20vt engine being fitted sits with room for a tennis ball between the sump and road!!! Ideally I'd have liked to lower the car more with the 15inch rms. So to get rid of arch gap I might start looking for some 16x9s. Always been fond of kerscher carmonas. I'll see what I can find.
