Best thing to remove overspray on headlight glass?

Recommended Posts

Spent a couple of hours with a combination of Autoglym Glass Polish and Megs Clay bar trying to remove overspray on my headlight glass without much luck. :(

Can anyone suggest anything a bit more abrasive or do I need a better Clay Bar?

Any advive appreciated.

As, supercharged, says.

Paint thinners is volatile, aggresive solvent that will not affect glass.

I have never been without it in nearly 40 years of car care (nor white spirit and paraffin).

Never try to remove stains from paintwork, some rubbers or plastics with thinners, though.

sorry to hijack the thread but on a similar note, my back lights have been sprayed with a tint, the previous owner did this just before i got it. he said he used normal tint spray from a motor shop. would "thinners" work to remove this? the lights just look dirty at the moment.
