bruny 0 Posted March 28, 2009 My radio in the Vr6 has died, will probably replace with the same unit a VW beta radio cassette. Its not the original fitment I think it came later, around '96. Just wondered if anybody knows what would have been fitted from the factory in 1992
Leonard 0 Posted March 28, 2009 Prob not much help but my 95 VR had a Sony cassette deck
bruny 0 Posted March 28, 2009 Thanks Leonard, Sadly I am being drawn into the concours addicts group, so would like to keep it as the factory intended, just not sure what was about then, I would have thought there would be a couple of choices in 92, I'm sure Sony would be one of them. If thats a definate contender would you be able to post a picture or a model no. please??
Mawrick 0 Posted March 28, 2009 I think you can find some info here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3713217 I think the Gamma cd player was an original option on the Corrado.
bruny 0 Posted March 28, 2009 Thanks Mawrick, I'm more confused now though, I thought the gamma came after the beta. The American market was supplied with extras that we Europeans didnt get but if I could find a genuine fitment radio/cd player that would be a bonus :D
Mawrick 0 Posted March 28, 2009 If I'm not mistaken they do pop up from time to time at the german ebay....:) And I think some of the casett players comes with a 6-disk cd player, as it have control for it...:) I guess you can also try to check with the guys in here if they have any info: http://www.vwcorrado.de/forum/ (There is a "thread" called request for english speaking people on that forum)...;)

vr6storm 0 Posted April 1, 2009 IIRC the hi-fi's were dealer fit,so dependant on what the dealers had, from memory it was SONY(with VW branding) and BLAUPUNKT that were used
Mawrick 0 Posted April 1, 2009 This one is apparently taken from a old U.K Brochure: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/MacMan2626/brochure6.jpg This from a German Brochure: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/MacMan2626/seite05_gr.jpg Atleast for me the U.K one seem to be fitted with a blaupunkt. More in this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?i ... d=51852724 Also found some from the Canadian brochuere, seem to be using the heidelberg there...: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4113879 Any way to get this forum to accept larger then 800 pixel wide pics (or enable "auto scaling"), nice to have when linking to pics already on the net...;)

Just wondered if anybody knows what would have been fitted from the factory in 1992  I have a Sony XR-C450RDS head unit removed from my 94 Corrado VR6 last year. My parent brought a 94 Golf Rag Top brand new from the dealers and that had the same head unit as the one I removed, which also has a 10 disc changer in the boot. I still have the head unit if you want it. £15 plus postage, you can PM me if you want. Dude VR6
awright182 0 Posted April 2, 2009 My 92 VR6 came with a Sony radio cd. I wanted a remote cd changer so the dealer swapped it for a Blaupunkt Canberra. It was one of the nightmare ones where the whole thing fitted into a cage and when you left the car you took the whole thing with you. Andy
The_Dude 0 Posted April 2, 2009 Mine's a Sony XR 3759 cassete player with faceoff and "For Volkswagen Group' written on it.
