voo51 0 Posted April 3, 2009 I have read posts on people wanting arch extensions but no one has said where to buy the actual arch extensions from in the first place? Can anyone help?
mrbeige 0 Posted April 3, 2009 Just get your metal arches flared/pulled
Kempy 0 Posted April 4, 2009 what can I do with mine, one of my rear arches is full of filler :gag:
voo51 0 Posted April 4, 2009 My wheels stick out about 1 and half inches each side. I have contacted 'archenermy' to see if they can help but i doubt it. My bodyshop has spoke of arch extensions but I cannot see them anywhere. Plus, one of my arches currently has some rust on, so, I don't think it can be fared. What has everyone else done?! boost monkey 0 Posted April 4, 2009 on the old golfs, they had arch replacement kits which was basically just the arch (plus a little extra metal) and was used to replace a rear arch when one had rusted (cut out old, weld on new, sort the seam out between the two). But they were often used as extensions to the original arches, making the car look like it had a wider track. I'm not sure if these are available for the Corrado. voo51 0 Posted April 4, 2009 They are exactly what I am after. I have found them for all the Golfs and even the Passat!! But no Corrado.
lilfuzzer 1 Posted April 5, 2009 May be an option to grab a bare shell and cut out the rears if those are the ones you need.
voo51 0 Posted April 5, 2009 I have thought about that as well but I imagine panels are really expensive- even second hand.
lilfuzzer 1 Posted April 6, 2009 On the other hand you could try and get a sheet metal worker to make some but this will prob cost more than the panels. There was a shell for free on here not long ago dont know if still available?
voo51 0 Posted April 7, 2009 I think I am just going to get hold of some rear arches from a car that is being broke and have them re welded on the originals! My Corrado going into the bodyshop has now been postponed until the 28th April. So, I have some time to sort it!
lilfuzzer 1 Posted April 8, 2009 Hope you manage to get it sorted and look forward to seeing the results
C488ADO 0 Posted April 13, 2009 it would make no difference if your arch was rusty or had filler... the work involved in pulling your arches is about the same just would be a little longer in time to cut out the bad metaland put new in.... look through my build thread and it will show you how they pull an arch there are some close up pics of the car sitting exactly how i wanted it and they made the arch around that... hth
