Interesting putting an engine best suited to a nimble lightweight car, into a barge.

Yeah bit random but looks a very tidy install, looks so strange mounted that way too!

 

At least it's got some room round the engine too unlike the Corrado, probably runs cooler I reckon.

 

As for the intercooler Struan, remember air-con Golfs were like this out the factory - I agree it's not ideal though.

still would be an upgrade to the 2.0 8v and 2.0 16v's they fitted at the factory all the same

Yes, I know that, however, at least the Golf G60 air-con had an intercoooler designed with a sculpted box-hood that fitted flush to the underside of the bonnet and stopped most of the hot air being drawn in directly to the intercooler......
