__Andy__ 0 Posted May 20, 2009 still waiting for my m8 to get back to me martin, have we had any joy on those 'mates rates yet?'
VR6 South 0 Posted May 20, 2009 I have edited the first post to include details of all those who have expressed an interest. Please can you confirm your interest and provide me with the info (see p1) which I need to get a quote from BJV. Delivery and collection may be possible if you are en route or are prepared to get the wheel to PO8 post code. I'll let this run for another week, or slightly longer if needed
tbvr6 0 Posted May 20, 2009 I live near Fleet in Hampshire and I have a set of BK Racing BK850s that I am thinking of getting refurbished. I was thinking of using BJV, when I saw this thread. Any discount would be a plus as there standard rates are pretty good. The wheels are currently without tyres, but I would get tyres from blackcirlcles and then get BJV to fit and balance them. So, if there are any group buy offers, I might well be interested in joining in. Cheers, Tony What size are the wheels and do you want std finish? They are 16" x 7J. I want a standard finish, just can't decide whether silver or anthacite/charcoal :confused4:

tbvr6 0 Posted May 21, 2009 Hi Martin, Just to firm up exactly what I am looking to have done: 4 x BK Racing BK850s complete refurbish, powder coated in mid to dark anthracite/gunmetal. 4 x BK Racing 150mm 2-piece plastic centre caps, painted in same colour I will supply 4 tyres to be fitted and balanced after refurb Although I live in Fleet, I work in Egham, so can drop wheels off myself if required. I really want to get this done soon, before some of the June shows. So if this is going to happen shortly, I will join in. Otherwise, probably do my own thing. Cheers, Tony

VR6 South 0 Posted May 21, 2009 Right! I have spoken to BJV and they will do at least 15% if you pay by cash to cut down thier admin costs. They will consider a bit more discount once they have assessed each set of wheels for any work which may be involved. Please mention the Forum :norty: So who wants to take thier wheels up next week. I plan to do a run there next Saturday morning :)

My mate will be able to remove your tyres or it may be best to get BJV to do the job as they will refit them too. It' will be a fairly early start as I think they shut at midday sharp! It's only me and you coming from this area at the moment so they should all fit in my car OK.

Cheers Sukh It may be best if you deal with them directly and mention that you are from the forum. You may get a better rate if you drop the wheels in yourself :) They have repaied a set of BBS's which I was going to bin as they were that bad, They came back like new :D
__Andy__ 0 Posted May 21, 2009 no probs martin, just thought it may be a bit cheaper if i get your buddy to take them off and refit them after, obviously im happy to pay him.. just its £30 more to have them taken off and put back on again at bjv.. what time you thinking of leaving next sat? I could probably get the tyres taken off for a bit less, but it would mean a trip over to mine during the week as he doesn't work on Saturdays. I'll probably set off at 08:00 - 08:30 as I only just made it last time I went up. I'll drop you a pm with my details if the time is OK?
vwdeviant 0 Posted May 21, 2009 Word of warning... they will only powdercoat in one colour... if you are looking a 2 colours you may need them wet painted and that will drive up the cost due to masking paint etc... As to polishing, I know they will polish 2/3 piece rims, but not sure of 1-piece... they can also do Diamond cutting... anyone got old Estorils they need doing? Sukh, have a chat with Yeti, I think he might be heading that way soon... or if not they're only in Hemel so about 1/2 hr away from you!
12 DEG BEN 0 Posted May 21, 2009 Both nuts and good then. I will take mine up on the saturday after then. Setting off about 8 also. Good job on the discount team!
tbvr6 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Just rang BJV and am going to drop my wheels and tyres off Tuesday as it is the next time I am in work and next time they are open. I will let you know how I get on in regards to the discount. I take it they have not given a discount code or anything, I guess I just quote The Corrado Forum? I did not mention this on the phone as they sounded busy, but will discuss it when they see the wheels. With a bit of luck I can have the new wheels and tyres on in time for Stonor Park. Cheers, Tony
vwdeviant 0 Posted May 22, 2009 Oh yeah and for those in lowered cars be careful, they're on a farm's industrial estate. Not the most "slammed friendly" place!

They should fit, although I will need to check how many wheels will fit into the back of a mk2 Golf. Andy are you leaving your tyres on? martin, just had my mot this morning and its gona need: brake compensator valve seized, hand brake inoperable on drivers side and may need a new caliper, exhaust has multiple leaks and a crack in the centre box, rear brake lines are badly corroded and it needs some spring washers for the rear suspension, probably looking at around the £300 mark... :( :( :( so my wheels are going to have to wait for another month, im really sorry to mess you around martin, i really wasnt expecting it to fail on these things, knew the exhaust was a problem but not everything else.. hope this doesnt cause too much of a problem. my apologies again. tbvr6 0 Posted May 26, 2009 Just a word of warning. I have just had a rather long wasted journey to BJV. My wheels had plastic centre caps and this is something they cannot do. Most wheel refurbishers will powder coat the alloy wheel and paint the plastic centre cap to match. BJV only powder coat, so they cannot paint the centre cap to match and you cannot powder coat plastic. So, does anyone know what The Wheel Specialist in Fareham is like. They do paint centre caps to match wheels, but they are more expensive. Does anyone have any knowledge of them? Failing that, anyone else recommend somewhere else? Cheers, Tony (tbvr6) P.S. Martin, you might want to remove my wheels from P1.

They were V expensive, although they invited me to come and have a look at thier work when I mentioned BJV :)
