Wiper Linkage - Small thing, Big Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi

Just thought I would mension this incase it causes anyone else bother:-

The part of the wiper mech that goes to onto the motor (the bar with the two plastic eyes) wore out on my car, so it kept popping off when the wipers change direction.

Sinse it was raining/snowing I wasnt able to go anywhere without it - the car might as well of broken down!!!

You guys might want to check yours before the same happens leaving you stranded (tho probably not in as remote a place as I was)!!

Happened to me on my old 16v and I think Tom (vr6) as well, theres an old thread on it though I think it broke in a different place, at the bottom of the drivers side wiper near the wing.

Yep I had the same problem....was a royal pain in the ass and there seemed to be no quick fix.

Replaced the wiper mech after the motor...(cheers G-man for the part :)) and it has been fine ever since.

I think it's called a rose joint.

Yep it's a plastic rose joint. They get sloppy and worn with age.

VR6, have you got the part number of that bit as mine is getting a bit loose.

Cheers

K
