C. Will Corrado G60 2

BBS RS 301 17's - what's the best size for a Corrado

Recommended Posts

I've finally decided to save up and get those show wheels as the car is no longer a daily runner. I want a set of BBS RS 301 17 but what's the best width for the front and rear without having to modify the arches. The car is a Corrado G60, the arches have been rolled and I'm runnign Koni coilovers.

I was thinking something like 8x17 front & 8.5X17 rear (with a little tyre stretch to help them fit). What ET shoudl I be looking for?

Plus does anyone have photos of the above sizes on their C?

The most important question is how are you planning on going five stud? with adapters or swapping the hubs?

Good spot, not really as I have stud brembo's up front and don't really want to change them. Possible look into it though, it's a case of trying to keep the costs down

Getting bit fed up of the ride compromise of running 17's around where I live. So thinking of going for ultra lightweight 16 inch wheels.

Good luck with search, no doubt about it 301's look the danglies 8)

know what you mean about running 17's. I hardly use the car now so don't care. Am I right in says BSS 301 are pretty light as they're a 3 piece?

Yeah but no but. Not enough to stop your car tramlining anyway. Or I am assuming so... Anyone care to comment?16's would be better and you can get them in 4 stud easier and run wider rims easier

Not too bother about hassle, as i've been needing new rims for a while and I'm not about to take the easy route. It's just a case of gettiing together the knowledge on what I need to do and starting at the top.

1) What spec 17 BBS RS 301's am I looking for?

2) What needs to be changed so they fit?

3) Find some!

4) Fit them

BBS RS is the style of wheel the 3 digits after denote the specific model

here is a link to the many different rs's available. https://www.parcel2go.com/service.aspx?serviceid=3

BBS RS 301's are mentioned a lot as they are the only 5 x 100 17" rs available. There is no 4 x 100 17" rs afaik. This means that no 17" rs is going to be a direct fit for you, depending on which model you get hold of will deteremine what work you will need to do.

The corrado you posted earlier is running 7.5 x 17 et 25 front and 8.5 x 17 et20 rear on a vr.

I think the cheapest way for you to get 17" rs's on you car is buy a 5 x 114.3 jap fitment spec of ebay. These are usually 8's on the front and 8.5 or 9's on the rear. like the following auction http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=230347359340 They usually go for a round £600 then spend approx £300 on a refub and Eur 250 on 4 x 100 - 5 x114.3 adapters from concept wheels http://www.concept-wheels.be/index.php?action=page&group_id=9&lang=NL so should cost you just over a grand to get them on. As a comparison rs 301's go for £1400 + depending on condition.

There is also the following wheels for sale on German ebay that have been redrilled to 4 x 100 and would be a perfect fihttp://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260435655014t for you

ZAK thank you so much for all the info and the searching around. The jap BSS looks like a nice cheap route to take. but those BSS's on german ebay look perfect. The only thing is, how good is the redrill (all down to who did it?) and is a ET 13 workable?
