B41LEY 0 Posted August 14, 2009 Here's mine, took ages to do. Spent about 2 hours preperaring them with wet and dry paper, then gave them about 10 light coats of red paint, 10 coats of clear lacquer then t-cut and a good polish. Well pleased with how they look............ 2.8l 24v Climatronic system.pdfSDC10476.JPG[/attachment:1wtnik3n]SDC10478.JPG[/attachment:1wtnik3n]

B41LEY 0 Posted August 15, 2009 gonna be doin mine soon but can't decide wether to go all red or leave the reverse light unspread :norty: I would say go all red if its just a show car, but if you use it every day then leave the reversing light. It is a bit fiddley to mask up but worth it to be legal.
Zeal 0 Posted August 16, 2009 the other thing to look out for is the reflectors, you need them for the mot too, i have seen a corrado with all black lights then reflectors stuck around the numberplate :nono: don't over do the red or you could lose the reflection! i prefer the reverse painted red but i'm not keen on pink reverse lights. you could alter the size or shape of the reverse lights. big ben 10 Posted August 16, 2009 anyone know if i can sand down the orginal lights, then laquer them so they come up nice and shiny  ?? like the look of smooth polished up lights, but want to keep mine orginal now...
Emkayvr6 0 Posted August 16, 2009 U shouldn't need to rub them down 1st unless they're really scratched just get em polished and they come up smooth and polished

borarob 0 Posted August 17, 2009 ok thanks, will take them off this weekend and giv them a tcut and polish and see how they come up i've found that autoglym metal polish works very well on standard lights to remove scratches and bring out the shine

awigman 0 Posted August 18, 2009 you don't need green LED bulbs - amber ones are what you want (green bulbs referred to are normal filament type - as i say though they are sheeite) i bought these: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/36-LED-amber-indicator-bulbs-x2-replaces-1156-382_W0QQitemZ390063283229QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Motorcycle_Parts?hash=item5ad1955c1d&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262&_trkparms=%7C293%3A1%7C294%3A30 and these to go with them http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2pcs-6-Ohm-50W-Turn-Signal-LED-Bulbs-Load-Resistors_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trkparmsZQ7c293Q3a1Q7c294Q3a30QQ_trksidZp4634Q2ec0Q2em14Q2el1262QQhashZitem2ea6692e9cQQitemZ200360406684QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories Would they work without the resistors or will they not be as bight? im crap with electrics
borarob 0 Posted August 18, 2009 the resistors are needed. they don't affect the brightness, they are for flash rate. the low resistance of the LEDs means the flasher relay sees it as a blown bulb and therefore indicators will flash too fast

Which wires do i need to connect the resistors to? thanks
borarob 0 Posted August 21, 2009 you connect the resistors in parallel with the blub: dodgy diagram: + (positive) ----------|------------------| ---------------------resistor--------------bulb ground-----------------|------------------|
Narrdo 10 Posted May 17, 2018 10 years on nearly have we come to a conclusion or are we buying these now? https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F322544584523 MOT failed me and on the 120 flashes cause of the Amber LED, Was planning on green paint but seems no good.
