New Scirroco Interior - Will it fit?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

this is still very much a dream at the moment, I haven't even sat in one yet....

I was wondering if you guys think a new rocco interior (including rear seats) would fit into a rado comfortably? I guess the rear seats may be a bit narrow, but I could probably think of a way to make that look smart.

I absolutely love the look, especially in brown leather.

anything's possible!

would look pretty good if done right I reckon, it's not going to be plug and play though :)

then your major problem would be getting hold of one without having to risk a prison sentence for obtaining it, dread to think what VW would charge for all the parts new :pale:

haha, yep, thats the other problem, been keeping an eye on ebay but i guess my best bet is going down to the scrappys looking for a new rocco with some dents in it.

glad I'm not the only one who likes the idea.

KADVR6 had some cloth ones. Not sure if he still has them :confused4:

The only issue I think you might have is the sheer bulkiness of the seats compared to Corrado units. The seats in the Scirocco I took to Germany last year had electric lumbar supports and possibly even airbags in them - and were quite noticably fatter in the base than Corrado ones as a result. The might simply be so tall, you could put them in but would not be able to adjust them!

the front seats WILL 100% fit, you will just need some subframes fabricated, the rears are surprisingly easy to fit but they are 45mm narrower each side than the standard rear seats, so you will have to get some form of foam to fill the gap.

does that help??

I have been curious about this for a while but could never find a new scirroco being broken. Do they not have airbags in them?

I would have thought it would have had 'Airbag' stamped on the bolsters somewhere if it did have them.

Edit: Just checked, standard spec list from the VW website lists "Front seat side impact airbags"

if its just the brown leather and trim details your wonting, could you not just get the existing seats re-upholstered? it wouldn't be as expensive as buying a new interior... just a thought

also saves you having to build a frame and fill the foam gaps between the rear seats. theres a plce in Edinburgh that can re-upholster a car in any shade of leather you can think of a fit it all in a day
