Mounting engine on a stand

Have any of you had a VR6 engine on an engine stand? If so -

 

1) How did you mount it?

 

2) What bolts did you use and where did you buy them?

Normally mounts on the gearbox side mate, big 19mm bolts into the gearbox threads in the block.

 

The 4 little arms on the engine stand should move around and offer the right adjustment.

cheers - ive read you should use grade 8 bolts - any idea where to get them? I have to go mail order for everything given my working habits

and if you want an engine stand i have a brand new one available mate, and four bolts on the gearbox side is plenty safe mate, my old vr6 and the r32 of doom were both on my old engine stand for ages with four bolts holding it safely.

Karl - I may be interested in the stand mate - is it a machine mart jobbie?

wouldnt the bolts differ though per block? there werent any with the clarke stand from machine mart
