Bullfinch 0 Posted October 15, 2009 My Corrado's got some small-ish 50p size rust spots on front offside wheel arch. I'll try and take pictures this weekend and post. Anyway I take it along to a local bodyshop specialist and they claim some remedial work has already been done in the past and the rust is coming through from the inside. Their suggestion is to buy a new wing to solve the problem. Sounds a bit drastic (and costly) to me. Any owners had similar problems and found a more cost effective solution? PS: Cost of new wing sourced from VW was £240 - does this sound about right?
millerman 0 Posted October 15, 2009 there is normally wings and various pannels on this forum for sale that can be picked up a far less than stealer price i would look at people breaking parts and go down that route :D
Leonard 0 Posted October 15, 2009 Yeah new wing (read 2nd hand) is the way to go if you want a long lasting repair to the problem.
Supercharged 2 Posted October 15, 2009 Yeah, if it's coming through from the inside then I bet it's been replaced in the past and not prepped properly... As above replacement is the only way, either new while you can still get them or a good second hand one. easy enough to fit as its bolt on although should be sealed to the body
