Central locking issues

Need you help guys,

 

The central locking has stopped working on my boot. I have a Toad alarm with remote central locking included but it won't open the boot from this. The boot opens fine with the key but not yet tried it via manual central locking.

 

Anyone suffered the same kind of problem :scratch:

There is a rod with a white clip from the actuator - seen a few of these break or the clips come out....

 

Have a look under the black cover - parts cost pennies from VW

EDIT: you do mean the cover inside the boot lid ?? sorry to be a numpty but me brain isn't working correct today :cuckoo:

This might sound stupid but have you made sure that you've put the lock in the right position? Its got 2 positions; if the lock is horizontal then it will be locked/unlocked from the c/l but if it is in the vertical position it won't be locked/unlocked via the c/l...just worth checking :)

Yep, tried that one Mate.

 

I had wondered on the two positions so thanks for the heads up on that :)

 

Going into the garage with it again soon so I'll have the panel off the inside of the boot lid and see what I can find........hopefully a cure for this :mad2:

Andy-H - did you have any joy with this? Was it the activator/actuator in the boot lid?
