VR6 grille badge nicked! Where do I get one?

Some scumbag has pinched my VR6 grille badge (or it has fallen off(?!)) so I went to the stealers who told me it was a limited edition badge on the C - i.e the golf VR6 grille badge won't fit. Is this correct?

Anyway he's going to let me know tomorrow if he can get hold of one, in the meantime can anyone point me in the right direction in case he can't get one in for me? Or is it time for an ad in the wanted forum? Thanks in advance.

I got mine from the dealer but if not, GPC will sell them, or Trimsport.

Thanks Kev, I thought you could only get them off if the bonnet was open but obviously not. Is there any way of securing them a bit better?

Just had my C repaired in Nov at the bodyshop for a small scuff (actually complete front end :-) :-) ) - they had no problem sourcing a new VR6 badge for the grille from VW...:

 

Parts nos are

 

535 853 679 QN5 for the early red type

535 853 679 GX2 for the later chrome type

 

Described on ETKA as "Inscription"... hope that helps

Well they rang me today so I have a new one on now. It's the 2nd part number you have quoted. It was about £7-odd. Cheers guys.
