Not a case of a late interior in an early car (or opposite way round) is it where whoever did it just butchered the loom and left it?

Im going to guess, that from the pictures its a late car, with an early fitted interior (the design of the switches) and the guy who fitted it cut it as you said but couldnt work out the wiring loom as they look to be different colours, i can source you a wiring diagram if you want ive got them all from when i re did all of mine.

That is if you dont mind doing a bit of soldering, or i think ive got the original loom for the mirrors as i changed from early to late...

Im not sure, its grey leather in a J reg G60, is that standard? and can the 2 be connected?

cheers

AFAIK its not standard but J reg (or 92) was the crossover year like mine although i did think that all G60's were early spec...might be wrong, if the connectors are different then no, you cant just connect them lol but as i said above you can splice it easily enough

Infact looking at the picture again its kinda REALLY messed up. The position of the switch is that of a late interior, the earlys had the switchs higher up on the door card whereas the lates have them in the storage/speaker plastic. It appears to be that they have replaced some of the parts but mixed the late and early together...odd

[strike:3re1odyt]Out of curiosity have you got a picture of the mirror switch i think ive got an idea....[/strike:3re1odyt]

Ok i've figured out what has happened here, i was correct about your car being early spec, what the previous owner has done is buy a late leather interior but hasnt managed to get all the switches. Your mirror switch is late as it is in the grab handle of the door, the earlys were much higher up. He hasnt managed to replace any of the looms which is why the switch isnt connected. the looms are still that of the early hence why he has used an early window switch and butchered the socket to make it fit.

You've got 3 choices:

-Splice new loom for window switch and mirror switch, however you'd need to get the connectors for the loom and a late spec window switch (or you could just do the mirror)

-Replace the doorcards for early leather door cards, that way the connectors and switches are the same, however you'd need to get an early spec mirror switch

-buy new looms and fit them,

Ok i have found the wiring diagrams for both early and late however for some reason there appears to be WAY to many cables coming from the socket in the switch...can you confirm to me the colours coming from the switch, thanks.

The wires on the switch are no1 brown/black 2 white/green 3 yellow/brown 4 blue/black 5 black/yellow 6 black/grey 7 black/red 8 brown

door loom 1 brown 2 black 3 blue 4 red/blue 5 black/yellow 6 White

those numbers are molded into the connectors, the mirror switch looks like it's been butchered into the handle so it may not even be from a corrado :s

ok well according to my wiring diagram (for both early and late) there should only be 6 cables going into the mirror switch and they are the same for both early and late:

1 Brown

2 Black

3 Blue/Red

4 Blue

5 Black/Yellow

6 White

The thing is that the cable already in the switch isn't supposed to be there AT ALL lol the previous owner clearly just found one that he thought 'fitted'

Here is the wiring diagram for the late spec but its the same for early just so you can look yourself:

So in your case (if his socket fits ok and the terminals connect properly) i would assume you could splice it like this:

SWITCH------------------------>DOOR LOOM

Brown/Black----------------->Brown

White/Green---------------->Black

Yellow/Brown--------------->Blue

Blue/Black-------------------->Red/Blue

Black/Yellow----------------->Black/Yellow

Black/Grey-------------------->White

And don't worry about the extra colours (sockets 7 + 8 Hope that helps :)

haynes manuals dont exist for the corrados unfortunately....you have to either buy a bentley manual (expensive!) or just look on here for info :)
