MonkeyVR6 0 Posted February 9, 2010 Guys, in a fit of rage, I've managed to break my heater controls on my late-spec Corrado...its -5 here at the moment. :censored: How can I replace these? Is it a simple case of prying off the panel with a flat headed screwdriver? Do I have to get a replacement of eGay, or is there a non-megabucks alternative? Cheers. :(
easypops 8 Posted February 9, 2010 I changed mine recently for the ones from a passat........its got to be a certain age though as i think they have a couple of different ones........i tried using one from a similar age vento but it looked wrong when compared to the original.......where as the passat one was almost identical.....there is a guide in the knowledge base http://wiki.the-corrado.net/late_heater ... epair.html I found the hardest bit the clips which hold the 3 bowden cables in place.....they are a real hassle as you have little room to work.....so it scraped knuckle time and lots of swearing.........a plus point i found was that the clips on the passat were slightly smaller and easier to remove/put on, and the 'spider' which is green on the original was white on the passat which means it is now lit better . 1 Pop the front facing off 2 Remove the 4 screws, 1 at each corner 3 Remove cd player and cage 4 Unclip the cables and remove  There is always a chance that the metal clip that sits between the direction and heat control has slipped off and is jamming things??? Good Luck :salute:
MonkeyVR6 0 Posted February 9, 2010 Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. Cheers for the informative help mate, guess I'm off to my local scrappy this weekend then in search of a Corrado facia, or even a Passat one. Last time I checked they had 4 Corrados, so I should be lucky.
