superchargedpolo 0 Posted January 26, 2004 Tried to start my VR for the first time in about 3 months for its MOT on Saturday morning but could not get the OE alarm to disarm itself with the keyfob, no matter what I tried. I have had the battery out of the car and on an optimate over the winter so it is 100% okay and I tried both keyfobs with brand new batteries in them. Spoke to a couple of auto electrician and they said that either the keyfobs have become un- synchronised or the unit is buggered? Has anyone else had this problem or know how to sort it before I have to spend a lot of money? Thanks Craig The unit is a VAG badged total closure alarm, Scorpion 5000. dazzyvr6 0 Posted January 26, 2004 the back up battery in the alarm could be dead due to you dissconnecting the car battery,i think scorpion will reprogram it for you
stormseeker 0 Posted January 28, 2004 Have you tried re-synching the fobs by pressing the arm/disarm button for 15 secs when next to the car...??? Or failing that, there's a recommended re-setup procedure after changing the car battery...
