OE Alarm Fault - Help!

Recommended Posts

Tried to start my VR for the first time in about 3 months for its MOT on Saturday morning but could not get the OE alarm to disarm itself with the keyfob, no matter what I tried. I have had the battery out of the car and on an optimate over the winter so it is 100% okay and I tried both keyfobs with brand new batteries in them.

Spoke to a couple of auto electrician and they said that either the keyfobs have become un- synchronised or the unit is buggered? Has anyone else had this problem or know how to sort it before I have to spend a lot of money?

Thanks

Craig

The unit is a VAG badged total closure alarm, Scorpion 5000.

the back up battery in the alarm could be dead due to you dissconnecting the car battery,i think scorpion will reprogram it for you

Have you tried re-synching the fobs by pressing the arm/disarm button for 15 secs when next to the car...???

Or failing that, there's a recommended re-setup procedure after changing the car battery...
