stingman123 0 Posted April 22, 2010 I've managed to snap this rubber belt and my steering is kaput! Any ideas what this belt is for? ] TIA
fla 9 Posted April 22, 2010 thats the auxiliary belt, you can get them from ECP for about £12 - make sure you get the Contitech one. If you've got aircon, then its around £25! - I've got a spare if you need it.

stingman123 0 Posted April 22, 2010 Cheers So is this a straightfoward(!) replacement belt? Any ideas what the grinding noise was?
fla 9 Posted April 22, 2010 yes, easy replacement, you'll need an M8 bolt to take the tension of the pulley then fit the belt on. Not sure what the grinding could be - but dont drive teh car without teh belt as it also runs the main water pump and power steering pump too - grinding could have been either of these, but hope not.... if you were local i'd help you do it, but i'm sure there are others local to you who wouldnt mind helping out. Yep still got the shelf & speakers, might install it in my car now, but if you are genuninely interested i'll hold off.

I'm not too clued up on speakers etc, just want something to help play my tunes louder! thanks
